The CAFF secretariat is pleased to announce the appointment of Kristín Helga Schiöth as CAFF Program Manager

In her role, Kristín will support the CAFF Executive Secretary and contribute to the coordination and implementation of CAFF’s programs, projects, and activities. She will also contribute to communication and support project and program data management and related communication outputs. Kristín is based in Akureyri, Iceland.
Kristín holds a Cand.Mag. degree in International Studies with a specialization in the Arctic region from Aarhus University. As part of her studies, she completed an exchange semester in Polar Law at the University of Akureyri and wrote her thesis on the legal and political framework around mining in Greenland, with uranium as a case study. She holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, with a Minor in Law, from the University of Iceland.
Prior to joining CAFF, Kristín worked in regional development and environmental strategy, with a particular focus on climate initiatives in North Iceland. She has significant experience in project management and implementations of policies that support the energy transition. Her previous work also emphasized circular economy strategies and the integration of nature-based solutions into municipal planning and operations.
