CAFF and PAME Secretariats welcomes new Project Manager of Finance

The CAFF and PAME Secretariats are pleased to welcome Snæbjörn Sigurðarson!

Snæbjörn holds a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Akureyri and has a strong background in local government, project development, grant applications, and financial administration.

Snæbjörn previously worked for the municipality of Norðurþing, where he managed initiatives related to economic development, culture, and innovation, with a focus on strengthening rural communities and regional cooperation. He has also held other organizational roles gaining broad experience in municipal finance, bookkeeping, payroll, office management, and public service delivery.

In addition, he served as Managing Director of Eimur, a regional innovation platform for clean energy, and worked on major infrastructure projects as a contract negotiation specialist at Landsnet, Iceland’s transmission system operator (TSO).

Snæbjörn’s professional interests lie at the intersection of sustainability, governance, and rural development. He brings a practical understanding of public sector operations, combined with a solid background in business management, financial systems, and digital solutions. He is particularly interested in how emerging technologies—such as artificial intelligence—can enhance workflows, support smarter decision-making, and help build more resilient communities.
