CBMP Coastal Expert Monitoring Group workshop

The Circumpolar Biodiversity Monitoring Program's (CBMP) Coastal Expert Monitoring Group (CEMG) welcomes you to the First Coastal Monitoring Experts Workshop – the first step to develop a coordinated approach to measure, assess and report on the state of Arctic coastal biodiversity.
The CEMG is tasked to develop an Arctic Coastal Biodiversity Monitoring Plan that outlines a biodiversity monitoring program for coastal ecosystems across the circumpolar Arctic. Countries responsible for implementing the program and will build on existing initiatives and work to implement new monitoring as opportunities arise.
The CEMG is the fourth and final ecosystem groups of the CBMP (marine, freshwater and terrestrial). The Circumpolar Biodiversity Monitoring Program (CBMP) is an international network of scientists, governments, Indigenous organizations and conservation groups working to harmonize and integrate efforts to monitor the Arctic's living resources. The goal is to facilitate more rapid detection, communication, and response to the significant biodiversity-related trends and pressures affecting the circumpolar world.
The CBMP is the cornerstone program of the Conservation of Arctic Flora and Fauna (CAFF) Working Group of the Arctic Council, with CBMP results fed in to the Arctic Council process
